My poor Coco has an injured paw pad. This past weekend she played too hard at grandma and grandpa's and peeled her pad a little. This isn't the first time this has happened. In fact, it happens quite often; really anytime she plays hard, like when we go to the dog park. Once it even happened when she chased a cat across the street.
This time it really put her out of commission for a day or so. She was limping along, acting pretty pathetic. My poor little Coco Pie, too rough for her own good.
Luckily, her Mommy had some doggy triple antibiotic to help it heal. And she is on her way to perfect paw!
Oh, poor sweetie! Hope she's feeling all better!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jackie! She's back to her old self...going full speed again!
DeleteHave you ever thought about trying any booties on her to protect her paws? We use the Pawz brand in the winter, they are rubber and the dogs seem to tolerate them pretty well. Glad she is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the Pawz, but have always thought that she would just tug them off. Good to hear they are usually tolerated...certainly worth a try! Thanks for the suggestion, Jan!
